New Technology

LEA has manufactured audio and video surveillance devices since the late 1980’s. We released our new PDT (Programmable Digital Transmitter) line of digital RF audio products in early 2010. The digital audio product line is less susceptible to interference and provides a More secure transmission. We will soon introduce a full line of disguised digital transmitters to the market. LEA is the only manufacturer of Disguised audio transmitters in the market. We also offer digital audio receivers and digital audio repeaters in this line. Soon LEA will offer Disguised digital repeaters as well. The PDT line represents a significant technological advancement for LEA and establishes Law Enforcement Associates as the only US based manufacturer of a fully digital audio line.


LEA introduced some new disguised digital audio recorders and disguised audio repeaters to complement our existing RF audio product line.

On the video side of the house, LEA is in a constant Research and Development mode. There are constant technological advancements in digital video Recorders (DVR) and small body worn video and disguised video and audio recorders. Our Aardvark Inspection Scope provides a perfect low cost solution For package searches, highway interdiction, vehicle searches, and perimeter security details. The LEA 5000 DVR Digital Video Recorder is a compact and portable Unit designed for security, law enforcement, military, and government industries. This professional grade compact DVR is a perfect drop-in digital replacement For tape-based recording devices, and features a removable SATA Hard Drive.

This year we introduce our PReViewS Portable Remote Viewing Systems. This small low power unit allows user to view high quality real time video over Narrow band widths. Cameras hooked to the PReViewS system can be viewed and controlled remotely by PC, Laptop and even Windows compatible mobile Devices. Multiple viewers in different locations can view live streams simultaneously. PReViewS is designed to be used with standard CCTV cameras, Avoiding the added cost of expensive IP cameras. Disguised housings and custom units are also available. PReViewS can be equipped using Samsung Day/Night PTZ Cameras as well for long range viewing.

The PReViewS Mesh Network provides an ideal solution for temporary deployments where video surveillance is required and no air transmission services are available. This MESH network replaces antiquated 2.4Ghz Microwave video transmission systems. Secure Video can be transmitted using the MESH network created when using at least two PReViewS MESH Network Nodes in conjunction with one another.

The RAPTOR 2.0 Body Worn Digital Recorder Kit replaced its predecessor the RAPTOR. The RAPTOR 2.0 comes in a kit which includes disguised cameras and all Components for operation.

LEA now offers the latest in under vehicle image stitching software that takes multiple images and stitches them together forming a single composite image for complete Undercarriage view. The UVI-ISS Inspection Screening Software also offers ALPR Automatic License Plate Reader and increased database and search capabilities, as well As image enhance. The UVI-ISS software kit will work with current owned UVI Legacy multi camera units (4 or 6 camera).

LEA is a master distributor for FLIR Ground Law Enforcement Products. The new H-Series Handheld Thermal Imaging Camera and FLIR Pathfinder Vehicle Based thermal Imaging kit are two new products for LEA in 2010. The H-Series Thermal products feature Patrol and Command models which are capable of recording video And image to on board memory card. The Pathfinder LE can be mounted on a vehicle behind the lightbars or in the grill and will allow driver to see 4 times farther than Headlights.


New Surveillance Training

The National Surveillance Academy offers courses specifically designed for officers and agents whose skill craft involves covert investigative techniques. The Academy is located at LEA headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Academy provides a modern classroom,complemented by the finest technical equipment available and a staff which is comprised of professionals who have real world operational experience in multiple disciplines, making an unparalleled training opportunity.


Who Can Attend

Attendance is limited to law enforcement or government personnel, authorized by their department, who are currently employed in a function dealing with intelligence, organized crime, counterdrug, computer forensics, vice or internal security. These courses are designed for the professional who has a basic investigative background.
