LEA (Law Enforcement Associates), located in Raleigh, North Carolina, manufactures covert surveillance audio and video intelligence gathering devices strictly for law enforcement use. LEA acquired AID (Audio Intelligence Devices) in 2004 and many LEA products still feature the classic AID technology and industry awareness. LEA is the only US manufacturer of covert surveillance audio devices in disguised housings.

LEA’s experienced team of technicians and engineers manufactures disguised surveillance RF audio transmitters, receivers, and repeaters (also known as boosters). The recently released PDT Digital Audio surveillance equipment line utilizes the latest in digital audio recording and transmission technology. This advancement provides a more secure and is much less susceptible to interference than current analog wire surveillance systems.

The Aid Vision line of video recording and transmission surveillance devices features both overt and covert cameras from Samsung as well as discreet video recorders in numerous disguised housings. LEA also manufactures custom video surveillance equipment such as the Quad Mobile Recording Kit, Graffiti Cam, Groundhog, Raptor, and newly released PReViewS portable remote viewing system. All video receivers and recorders are housed in sturdy Pelican cases while many also feature Rainbow Lenses.

For almost 10 years now LEA has manufactured the UVIS, or Under Vehicle Inspection System. The most recent update to the product allows for the UVIS surveillance system to be offered as a single-camera mobile, Rapid Deployment UVIS. It is also still available in the legacy format of 4 or 6 camera systems. The newly released UVI-ISS Inspection Screening Software takes multiple images (4 or 6 cameras) and stitches them into a single image for a composite undercarriage view. With options such as ALPR (Automatic License Plate Reader), Driver Image Camera, and increased database search parameters, this UVI system is up to the challenge of staying current within the ever-changing world of technology.

LEA is frequently releasing and introducing new covert surveillance products to the market in order to keep up with the technology industry. In 2009 LEA introduced the Scorpion Micro DV recorder into the law enforcement sector and in 2010 the aidVision Tac Optics-QRS. (Quick Recording Scope), perfect for highway interdiction, was introduced. LEA is an authorized distributor of Morovision Night Vision and FLIR Infrared Thermal Cameras. Morovision features night vision goggles, scopes, binoculars and accessories. FLIR produces the new H-Series Thermal Vision Camera as well as the Pathfinder IR system. LEA is also the only US distributor for the Coleman Technologies (CTI) AIO-All in One GPS Vehicle Tracking System
